We’re so back.

This one has been on my list to re-do for so long, but I was afraid it couldn’t live up to the original cover. But sometimes you just gotta give it a try! Especially since I could finally give it the extra love I always wished for. Toki’s harmonies and adlibs absolutely ATE. Kusabi did a crazy job with the guitar solo. Nauqy and Hanwyaa completely blew me away with this video. And Yubbii made my favorite art of the whole year. I literally couldn’t ask for more! 🥹
So consider this a loving dedication to MARETU and the mindf*ck lol

On a more personal note, its the end of the year and I’m doing a lot of self-reflection. I’ve been trying to manage stress lately and figure out what my future as an adult looks like. When I recorded this originally, I was a nihilistic community college doomer still living with my parents and barely thought about the future. So many things have changed for the better since then but, strangely, one of the hardest things to do has been actually imagining a future for myself. I have bad tendencies to overwork and punish myself because its weirdly more comfortable than maintaining a healthy balance. It takes bravery and a kind of self-love that feels completely foreign to me. I’m going to do my best to be better, though. And don’t worry, I’ll still strive to put out songs each month, but in my personal life, I think I just hope to find a middle ground between my past and future selves. 💛
